What We Do:
Harare News is a free, monthly community newspaper and online media hub. Our content is drawn from the city around us as we cover the places, people and events that are important to the citizens of Harare. We love our capital, and want to make it a better place to live, work and play because we are passionate about happiness.
Mission Statement:
We believe that communication lies at the heart of community. Harare News seeks to create a space where communication happens. Through quality journalism and busy forums, we afford Harare residents insight into the happenings in their suburbs and on their streets as a first step towards addressing the numerous issues they face in their daily lives.
By picking up on the ‘little’ issues overlooked by the existing media, we hope to instill a sense of citizenship into all our readers. In doing so, it is our hope that our publication can conquer apathy and hopelessness and germinate action.
We are driven by an excellent quality of editorial work and hope to nurture budding journalists, and keep our online offerings busy and representative through citizen journalism.
Our content is free to all, therefore it delivers knowledge to people for whom media can be seen as a luxury.
