RUA ROADBLOCK CHECKLIST IS A GAME CHANGER!
The recently introduced Road Users Association Roadblock Checklist is proving itself valuable at ZRP checkpoints around the country. Reports on Facebook group Dear ZRP tell how motorists are having successful outcomes at roadblocks, including senior citizens. Use of the form quickly confirms the legitimacy of an individual in police uniform, and the checkpoint. Cut out, photocopy and share the form opposite. You can also download the checklist from www.rua.org.zw/files , print copies and distribute amongst your community.
FACEBOOK GROUP ‘DEAR ZRP …’ IS A YEAR OLD, WITH OVER 33,000 MEMBERS.
Road Users Association congratulates Dear ZRP for reaching its first anniversary, with an impressive membership of over 33,000. In their milestone post, the admins of Dear ZRP appealed to group members to PAY IT FORWARD.
Quoting from the milestone post “When someone does a good deed for you, instead of paying it back, you can ‘pay it forward’ by doing a good deed for someone else. If you have benefited from being a member, please consider ‘paying it forward’ by helping other motorists. Here’s one suggestion …HELP US REACH THE OFFLINE COMMUNITY: Are there senior citizens in your community who are not on Facebook or WhatsApp or who don’t receive email bulletins? Let us take on the responsibility to advise them – and new drivers, who are also vulnerable. We have an abundance of resource material available to us – laws and regulations, the Cubbyhole Notes, the Schedule of Deposit Fines that lists the fines applicable to each offence, and a Contacts List of senior ZRP officers that is very useful in times of difficulty. The Road Users Association’s Roadblock Checklist is proving itself valuable at checkpoints across the country – senior citizens are being shown a whole new level of respect when they pull out the form at the first sign of harassment.”
Every motorist who has benefitted from knowledge gained on social media and in the press, including Harare News, should consider who in his or her family, would benefit from sharing the knowledge, to inform and empower.
