This month we welcome Tawanda Mudzonga to the Harare News team. We do so with great excitement, for Tawanda is a skilled editor and has a love and firm grasp of the city that we are striving to represent.
Tawanda is a writer and journalist with a passion for Zimbabwe, especially Harare. She was formerly the editor of Her Zimbabwe – the online platform for stories about women. Tawanda’s recent work on Harare includes essays on the city that were published this year, alongside the work of writers from Nairobi, Lagos, and Cairo, in a UK digital series called Letters from Africa. She has a degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Denison University, Ohio, USA, and her work has been published on online platforms in New York, the UK, and Zimbabwe. Tawanda lives in Greendale with her husband Dennis and their new daughter Mufaro. She enjoys long walks, watching birds and the magical change of seasons.
