Issue number 10 of Harare News is out, putting us at double figures and one issue away from our one-year anniversary! It is a positive and exciting time for us, though not without the hectic challenges that we as Zimbabweans have all had to adapt to.
Our front page surfaces a complex set of issues faced by residents of Marlborough. They are at a crossroads and the way in which things unfold will be very telling for the whole city as to the agenda of our leadership and the role of residents in shaping Harare’s future. We will keep you in the loop. If you live in Marlborough – get involved!
We also bring you news of fresh beginnings with stories of a new creative hub in the ever-improving Newlands shopping centre, as well as yet another festival that will start in July. Between HIFA, which makes May such a great month, Shoko, the Harare International Carnival, and more, Harare’s cultural landscape is richer and more exciting than ever.
With a myriad of good and bad news, problems, solutions, questions and answers, the content in May’s issue reminds us that we live in interesting times and things are shifting around us. What we hope most of all is to inspire action. Make a phone call, donate unwanted clothes, sign a petition and as always, feel free to get in touch with us and we will do our best to share your views about events in the city we share.
