The much awaited Oliver ‘Tuku’ Mtukudzi’s Greatest Hits Concert set for Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) will feature a massive line up of artists from different genres.
The show which was supposed to take place last Friday but was postponed to tomorrow evening will bring Gary Tight, Ammara Brown, Guspy Warrior, Jean Masters, Douglas Chimbetu, Sekuru Gweshe, Tanga WekwaSando, Tariro NeGitare and Tsvete to the stage. Most of the young artists are children of celebrated musicians who are out to prove themselves in light of their parents fame.
Tight, son of the legendary jazz musician Willom Tight will give the audience a feel of his highly energetic afro-jazz sound. Though barely 20 years old, the musician has been rocking the stage performing with big names in the industry including Jah Prayzah and Sulumani Chimbetu.
Guspy Warrior, real name Emmanuel Manyeruke, the son of another legend Mechanic Manyeru will give the audience a dose of dancehall. Guspy Warrior has been rocking both stage and radio with a chain of hits such as Seunononga and Wedzera MaWatts.
Ammara Brown will be another artist to look out for. Though mostly performing his father, Andy Browns’ songs, Ammara’s stage performance is well crafted. She has made a mark with her choreography and contemporary stage ware.
Douglas Chimbetu is another son of a well-known musician Allan Chimbetu. Chimbetu junior has a lot to prove since he parted ways with his father’s band to form his own at the beginning of the year. He will give the audience a taste of dendera music.
From Tuku’s Pakare Paye arts centre is the afro-fusion group Tsvete. The group has always proved to be a force of reckoning on stage. Their hits Vavhimi and Shumba always bring the audience to the dance floor.
Meanwhile, Tuku also announced that former Black Spirits member Picky Kasamba will be performing with him. He said, “The band and I are really excited by some of the song choices. For one or two of the requests from the fans it would not be right to perform them without Picky, so we have invited him and he has agreed to join us.”
The Greatest Hits Concert is being put together by Tuku Music in partnership with Impala Car Rental, ZiFM Stereo and Zimbo Jam. Fans have been selecting songs they want Tuku to be playing on the show.
Show starts at 8pm. Tickets are $10, and will be available from the HICC at Rainbow Towers from tomorrow morning.

The very heart of your writing whilst appearing agreeable originally, did not work perfectly with me personally after some time. Someplace throughout the sentences you actually managed to make me a believer unfortunately only for a short while. I however have got a problem with your jumps in assumptions and you would do nicely to help fill in all those gaps. If you actually can accomplish that, I would certainly end up being fascinated.
