Sitting in an armchair with a cold drink in hand, you watch Hararians hustle their way home. They are wondering which route will be quickest, and if there are any groceries to be bought on the way. The white rectangles of kombis are everywhere, casually working their way in and out of the flow of traffic, just as they please. Vendors sell flowers and air time and lots of different summer fruits.
High above this street you sit, watching, admiring the city and her people. You are one of them of course, but today you are up above them, looking down over Africa Unity Square, in your room with a view. A quiet place, a soft comfortable and beautiful one, it is a place of rest and peace. A place where you can get perspective and recharge.
This is the start of the romantic weekend that the winner of the ‘Love in the City’ photo competition will enjoy with their loved one. It will be a weekend of five star dining and escape from reality in Harare’s most renowned hotel, The Meikles.
To stand a chance of winning, you have to take a photo showing the theme of ‘Love in the City.’ That’s it! Read all the rules here, and get creative.
ENTRIES CLOSE ON MONDAY AT 5PM!
