Top gospel musicians Olivia Charamba, Pastor G and Blessing Shumba thrilled fans during a fundraising music concert put on by the Domboshava Theological College (DTC) at Celebration Centre.
The show on Saturday night saw the musicians delivering energetic performances despite the low turnout.
Charamba who was first on stage had the audience singing along throughout her performance which included her early hits such as Jesus makes My Day, Pasi Idandaro and Rute among others.
Pastor G treated the audience to a taste of gospel hip-hop before Blessing Shumba ended the show with hits such as Shongwe and Mufaro.
Other performers were the Celebration Choir of the Tambira fame and Musakwa and the Yard Crew.
The show was part of DTC’s series of fundraising projects that include a recently held sponsored walk.
The institute aims to raise $380,000 to purchase a building to be used as an education facility for its postgraduate program.
“We have already signed an agreement of sale for the premises located along Fife Ave so we have up to the end of July to raise the money,” said DTC Principal Rev Roy Musasiwa.
Econet, the show’s major sponsor, underwrote most of the concert’s expenses. Schweppes Zimbabwe through its Minute Maid brand also provided beverages which were sold to raise money during the concert.
Thanks on your marvelous posting! I truly enjoyed reading it, you’re
a great author.I will be sure to bookmark your blog and will come back later on. I want to encourage yourself to continue your
great writing, have a nice day!
First of all I want to say fantastic blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you
do not mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear
your thoughts before writing. I have had difficulty clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there.
I truly do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are lost just
trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or tips?
Many thanks!
