Celebrated dendera musician Sulumani Chimbetu is set to return to Red Fox Hotel this Saturday night, for yet another collaborative show with reggae star Mike Madamombe a.k.a Mic Inity.
This double bill follows their electric performance in May when they shared the stage at the Red Fox for the first time, in a show dubbed Marasta Batai Munhu.
Red Fox Hotel Director Robert Zhuwao explained: “We have decided to host Marasta Batai Munhu Part II following an overwhelming request from those who were at our first show and others who saw the video on YouTube.”
The two musicians are highly ranked in their respective genres, with Chimbetu having scooped three NAMA awards early this year and Mic Inity having featured in songs of celebrated Jamaican artists.
“Mic Inity is raring to introduce tracks from his upcoming album Just Reggae – My Journey. He released a single called Goodness Shall Pay online and it is doing very well,” said Zhuwao who also doubles as Mic Inity’s manager.
Chimbetu has been making waves across the country with his latest offering the Syllabus which includes hits such as Njiva and Sean Timba.
His publicist Joe ‘Local’ Machingura says: “Our music touches people from different cultural backgrounds so we are always happy to perform for them in the venues of their comfort.”
Red Fox Hotel, which is affectionately known as Kumarasta, is Harare’s acclaimed home of reggae music regularly hosting artists such as Winky D, Sizzla Kalonji, Popcaan and Mavado a.k.a the Gully God.
The show will be at 9pm. Tickets cost $5 before 11pm, $10 after.
